Few things in life are as sweet as college basketball.
Wow, what a game. Just take a moment and reflect.
Personally, my 3rd best of all time, behind the Duke game last year in the Joel, and the game at UNC this season. (the Duke vs. Kentucky game doesn't count because I don't have as vivid of memories of that, and I wasn't there.)
Sorry for those of you who couldn't make it (Lindley, Kelly, Genna, etc.) but I'm sure you were cheering as hard as you could in front of your TVs.
Trent was a huge boost today, as usual, coming off the bench for some huge alley-oops and playing good D, again drawing a charge.
Last year I shook Chris Paul's hand in the stands after watching us beat Duke in double over time as Trent threw down a 360 dunk to finish off the game. That was a couple of nights after Chirs's West Forsyth team beat Reynolds in the Annex. This year CP3 was on the court, in uniform to score 23 points (53 in his last 2 games). I'm sure it feels a lot better to play in the big building and beat the no. 3 ranked team in the land.
But Chris still hasn't replied to Nemanja's email... what's up with that Chris? Consider this an open invitation to come play poker in 313 any time.
Eric Williams broke out of his slump to have a huge game, finishing some tough shots inside, and dunking on Sheldon Williams towards the end of the game, a double double for BIG E.
What about J.J. you ask? Well, first of all, he is an A-HOLE, you don't just slap CP3 in the face, you just DO NOT DO THAT! But J.J. finished with 2 pts and 0 field goals for the first time in his career. Way to go J.J., Scooter was right.
Was He Looking For Gold?
And just what did Coach K have to say about the loss: "Our kids played their hearts out," he said. "If we play that hard, we are going to be fine. We don't measure what we do by our record, we measure what we do by how hard we play."
Yeah coach, easy to say when you have lost 2 in a row on the season, and 2 in a row in THE JOEL. Maybe you played hard, but hey, maybe we are just better.
If you have never rolled the quad, you are missing out. Its beautiful. BEAUTIFUL! Skip even came out and addressed the fans, saying that he wanted to cry at the pep rally before the clemson game.
Props Of The Day: The Whole Team, great effort.
And this is why I don't want to go abroad during the spring semester.
And also, there should be no class after games like this.
Again, sorry everyone who couldn't go, and to Cagney who missed it over in London, I'm sure it just wasn't the same on the radio.
Wow, what a game. This could be one of the coolest weeks in a long time. 2 Big wins for WFU, 2 Wins for Dale Jr. at Daytona, and just all around cool stuff happening.
And can you believe I actually wanted to go to duke? What was I thinking? Glad that didn't work out. "Columbus wasn't looking for America, but that worked out for everyone didn't it? I mean, you're here."
don't forget about the Daryl Davis talk tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm.
I had more, but I can't remember for all the excitement.
