NO SHIT
Major college atheletic recruits wanting sex, drugs and alcohol? Who would have thought?
DAMN they are 18, high school seniors or maybe juniors. I mean sex, drugs and booze are three things that are on the minds of college kids and 18 year olds in general all the time. Now you bring these kids in and try to sell your university and your program to them, put an older player in charge of them for a night with some spending money... what do you think is gonna happen? Same shit that happens when couple of dudes, athletes or not, are chillin in a dorm room on a friday night...
"yo man what you want to do tonight?"
"lets get drunk/high and go out, meet some babes man"
"aight, you got some cash, we'll get some beer/pot"
now if the coach/atheletic department has provided 40 bucks for the player to spend on the recruit... well theres your beer/weed money. And as for the girls... well, let's just say athletes seem to know where to find them.
You can't put 18 year old kids in these situations with free money and expect them to make good decisions. Man, 18 year old college kids are gonna make the fun decision whether they are atheletic recruits or not. If you want this stuff to stop you gotta change the way recruiting works, not put kids in situations where these options are avaliable. What would you do if you were at a school that you may or may not ever be at again for a weekend and you had free spending money and people were treating you like a king? EXACTLY.
