30 January 2004

Well, bid night was off campus this year, a little dissapointing, but oh well.
And here is an example of some crazy NCSU kids once again. When are they going to learn. And to think, I have actually studied in D.H. Hill Library... gross.

    29 January 2004

I've been telling you all year that the ACC is going to be crazy, and the evidence just keeps piling up to prove me right. Two exhibits tonight. In the first game, Maryland @ WFU, the Deacs bounced back from their four game losing streak by overcoming a ten point deficit to send Gary Williams and the Terrapins back to Maryland with a loss. Justin Gray broke out of his slump with 15 first half points and 20 for the game. Freshman Chris Paul also came alive, scoring 25 points and hitting a clutch three pointer to give the deacs the win, "The shot clock was winding down and Wake Forest freshman Chris Paul had to improvise. Taught to drive to the basket in that situation, Paul went against the lesson plan and fired up a 3-pointer. He made it, and snapped the 19th-ranked Demon Deacons four-game losing streak with the shot."

In the second game of the night, the Blue Devils won a close game in Cameron against the under-rated FSU Seminoles who are proving to be a contender in the ACC race this year.

Tonight was Josh Howard night at "The Joel" as the former Wake star and Dallas Mavericks rookie was in house to have his Jersey retired at half time. Before the game Josh was signing autographs, and since I was rocking out in the J-Ho Mavs jersey, I went down to get it signed. Well I was about third in line when some little kids cut in front of me, which was stupid, but they are little kids so sometimes you gotta look the other way, but then some old men did the same thing, STUPID. Then the sports marketing guy came and whisked him away for the player introductions. So NO autograph for me and my jersey. So then when they did the retiring ceremony at half time I had my camera so I could take some pictures. BUT, they had the lights off so I couldn't get any good ones b/c they were too far away for the flash, and the spotlight wasn't good enough for pictures. So not only did I not get an autograph, but I didn't even get any good pictures. So as far as that is concerned, the game sucked, but WE DID WIN, so that was awesome, GO DEACS!!

    Quote Of The Day:
"It's nice to win a congenitally award and we do have really nice kids, but ACC games are usually not family reunions." -WFU Coach Skip Prosser

The Big Maryland @ WFU game is tonight, be sure to keep your eye on Gary Williams, as he will be SOAKING up all the support of the wake fans on the sidelines.

Also, tonight is Josh Howard night, props to one of Wake's best, and a current member of the Dallas Mavericks.

  • Better Than Snood!

  • and also, I think i aced my accounting test

    28 January 2004

The Wolfpack and the Tar Heels gave us a good one tonight, the acc may be even more crazy than we thought.
The Deacs welcome Maryland to "The Joel" tomorrow night for Josh Howard night. Last year's maryland game was one for the ages.

News Flash: Friday is bid night, so that means outright crazyness on the Reynolda campus. Better have your listerine pocket strips ready. They claim to kill germs on contact, and you're gonna be contacting a lot of germs.

    26 January 2004

Apparently there is a new virus going around in the email. It will take people from your address book or somewhere and send them the virus as an attachment. It is infecting aol and other accounts, or both on one computer, it is finding people that you wouldn't expect to have your address. For example, it seems that Jan Yow, formerly famous from the previous blog "THINK" 2 years ago has had the messages being initiated from her account. She is out to get us yet again. DAMN THE MAN.
Anyway, be careful of attachments. If you get one, make sure you talk to the person who sent it to you before you open it, they may have not intended to send it.

Why are amazing snowboarding conditions always accompanied by CRAPPY road conditions? I mean all I freakin want to do is go snowboarding, but the roads might be too icy, and freezing rain tonight. Is it too risky??? I just want to shred, savvy?
I am definitely going Wednesday night (and maybe Thursday night too) Anyone who wants in, hit me up.
The roads have stopped me once, they won't stop me again.

    25 January 2004

Well, it is very interesting to know that my new neighbor happens to be the son of the infamous Kevin Cox (coxkp@wfu.edu)
On that note, NO CLASSES on monday = awesome snowboarding session

The Deacs managed to drop their 4th game in a row today, to FSU :( CP3 was back on track w/ his scoring, but his assists were down, EW also played well, finally scoring in double figures again, KV also had a good game and was in double figures. Not playing well was Justin Gray who was 1 of 11 on field goals for 3 pts and missed a potential game tying 3. I know that Justin is probably our "go to guy" for instant offense, but you kinda have to question drawing up a play for a guy who at the time was 1-10. Maybe Skip figured he was due, but he was definately not having his best game. Gotta get off this skid and back on the winning end of these contests. COME ON GUYS!

Also, sledding on food trays and trash can lids does not work well at WFU on fresh powder.

P.P.S. Microsoft Sucks Ass (even though they make xbox which still rocks)
I can't even view the Winter X games VIII video highlights from expn.com because the windows media player 9 for macs sucks. It really sucks. Really, really bad. What a waste of time and space. .mov formats are much better anyway. Microsoft sucks. GO BUY A MAC! Tell microsoft to screw themselves. GO BUY A MAC, you know the saying, an apple a day keeps the doctor away, well using an apple everyday will also keep bill gates away.

I just want to be able to watch Shaun White and Danny Kass (did you notice that Danny was jamming out to his iPod during the silver medal run??) freakin' go big at winter X VIII, is that too much to ask? But bill gates says that i don't deserve to see that b/c i didn't buy a computer that runs HIS operating system.

Just one more way of how The Man is out to get me (and you).

    24 January 2004

    P.S.:
Philip Rivers, also rocks your face off.
"The nation's top-rated passer was the only quarterback who looked completely at ease in the game, an NFL audition for college seniors."
"Rivers completed 12 of 19 passes, two for first-quarter touchdowns, to earn Most Valuable Player honors. He played one series in the final three quarters, re-entering late in the fourth."

    a Man

    24 January 2004

Props Of The Day: Shaun White, dude is crazy sick. SlopeStyle gold medal... again. SICK, ridonkulous. I need to get a freakin' bandanna.

HES 181 also kicks ass, but not as much ass as Shaun White kicks. Phat ass lesson, fun times, need to do it again, App Ski Mtn, not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, pretty decent actually, but small. I wish I lived in Colorado or norcal.

Attn: we have a severe winter weather forecast for Sunday, during the day and night, heck yeah, MAYBE we can get some frozen precipitation, and MAYBE some class cancellations.

Oh, and the WFU post office still sucks balls. (and so do you)

    just kidding. you think.
