26 August 2004

For those of you who are not fortunate enough to be on the AKPsi listserv, let me make a little announcement about the hot place to be tomorrow night.
Country Corral in King, NC.
The Country Corral
For more information about rides and pre-gaming, you know how to find me.
Also, There might be a party Saturday night.

My dad got a new BADASS truck today. AND he actually OFFERED to let me drive it. I don't think he ever did that with his other car. NICE. Nissan Titan, 4x4, off-road package, loaded. It's definately a bit of an upgrade from the other Nissan truck parked in front of our house.

I've now been to all of my classes for the semester, and I must say that Quant is probablly going to sUcK, but all the other ones seem to be pretty good, and hopefully not too hard.

This weekend is Katie's last weekend in America until December, so if you want to see her, you should come to the Corral tomorrow.

Today was the first day of classes. 3 classes, all in Kirby, all pretty good so far. The early favorite for my favorite MWF class is 'the legal environment of business' with Dr. Clay Hipp. Seems like its going to be a cross between business and politics. Sounds good. Great news from quant, the book is $136, and ONLY available from the WFU bookstore. Isn't that great. BUT, the prof says we are saving money by buying this book b/c they were able to keep the price down...
I also got 2 VVGs at the poster sale, and only had to wait in line for 30 minutes to pay, so that was cool too.
Flag football is coming up, let me know if you want to play.
And PLEASE don't forget to VOTE.
VOTE, and get informed.

An interesting thought from a math professor at two universities in Chile: every person in the world should be able to vote for the American President, because it (and America) affects people all around the globe. You can vote, and you should. And you should think seriously about it and how our choice can effect all of us, and millions of people who do not get the chance to vote in this election, but who see it as very important to themselves and would love the chance to vote.

23 August 2004

I have found a cool new place to eat/hang out: Lucky Dog Cafe on University Parkway. In fact, I'm sitting inside there right now. It's where Pancho Villa's used to be.
They have pizza, wings, sandwiches, homeade chips, BEER, wine, and other tasty stuff at decent prices. And, free wi-fi. The food is good, and the people are nice. Tell Marc (the owner) that I sent you. He's a swell fellow. Good seasoned fries too. Bud Light and Yuengling drafts for $2.oo, bottle domestics for $2.25. And, $0.39 cent wings (20 min. order). Oh, and turns out I did not close my post office box last year. So after going to the parking managment office, and then to benson to get my parking pass, turns out it was in my P.O. box, to which I do not have a key. So I had to go to the post office, and pay to replace my key, close my box, and get my mail. COOL. But, the new thinkpads are cool (still no apples). Fire drills at davis are not cool. Feeley gets the safe driver award for the week. And parking at Wake still sucks.

My first update from the new thinkpad, thanks to Jason.
This thinkpad is MUCH better than the old ones... finally WFU IS gave me something useful.
Classes start on Wednesday, that should be fun.
More updates to come soon.
