It was COLD in Boone that night! Posted by Hello

Happy Christmas Eve

So monday and tuesday I was at wintergreen, va. It was hella cold monday night, but tuesday was better, and the snow was good, although only on a few slopes.

Last wednesday night was a heck of a night. After boarding at App that day and then coming back to Winston, I rode back to Boone w/ Anders, Branson, Jonathan, SawDog and a couple other cats. We stayed at Jonathan's house in Boone for the night, and skiied the next day. Thanks to Jonathan and the Hancocks for letting us crash at their mtn pad. But the house... it was CRAZY. Jonathan told us to bring sleeping bags, so some of us did. But the house, there were no floors upstairs, so we chilled and slept downstairs. In the two main rooms downstaris there were 4 poles holding up the roof. Yeah, HOLDING UP THE ROOF, so it didn't fall in. And, there was a hole in the ceiling. The water was not turned on, and the heat... well it didn't work too well, and it was about 15 degrees outside. So, the house wasn't exactly POSH or luxury style, but hey it was a work in progress, and a cool place to stay. The view was beautiful... when you looked through the scaffolding holding up the house, you could see an amazing view of Grandfather Mountain.
But not having the best of creature comforts didn't stop us from ballin out. Of Course. Within 30 minutes of getting there, Branson had developed and set up a make-shift beer pong table out of a box spring and 2 end tables. GAME ON. Needless to say, we all had a good time and went skiing/riding at Beech mtn the next day, free lift tickets for men. Good times, thanks Jonathan for hooking us up.
More pictures of the craziness on the link to the right.
Oh, and B finally found out that there was an ice maker upstairs, which at some point had been working (we dont know how long ago) because he was finally able to melt some ice to drink at around 7am. Good think he didn't fall through the ceiling while looking for it.
Oh, and there was a SWEET Polster and Trey jam session while we were there. The Maroon 5 and Vanessa Carlton covers were amazing, as was the everclear.

22 December 2004

Props Of The Day: C.H. "Buddy" Cline Jr., My Dad. Today was his last day at the office, ever. Goodbye Progress Energy/ CP&L. Jan 1, 2005 is his official last day, but as of today he is retired. He deserves it, the man is the hardest working person I know. And, a great role model.

So I spent Monday and Tuesday snowboarding in Wintergreen Virginia. Sweet. Monday night was the coldest weather I have ever experienced. The wind chill was below 0. Farenheit. COLD. But the lights were on, and a few slopes were open, pretty much all greens. But the snow coverage was good, although you could tell (hear) it was manmade. Good times, I can't wait for Snowshoe WV after the new year.

Raleigh for the Holidays

But, probably a New Years party at my place in the W-S.
