Pictures from franklin street to come soon, I PROMISE.

But in the meantime, let's talk about Chris Paul's (probable) decision to leave school early for the NBA draft.

By almost all accounts, Chris Paul is leaving for the NBA draft. Yes, this sucks for us, and I'm pissed off. We are losing both our point guards and two of our most clutch players. J-Gray playing the point??... a whole 'nother topic.

Chris Paul has had a very good 2 year career at Wake Forest, he's been on the All ACC teams, hes gotten awards, but he's never won any title of any kind. He also has not ascended to any of the WFU record books, as that is almost impossible in 2 years. He will probably be a top five pick, but if his career is over, it ended on a sour note. Getting suspended for hitting Julius Hodge in the nuts, and then subpar performance and early losses in the ACC and NCAA tournament. If I were CP3, that's not the way I would want to be remembered.

Let's compare Chris's career to that of Josh Howard who graduated in 2003 and is now starting for the Dallas Mavericks. (he led the team in scoring last night). Josh Howard was the last pick in the 2003 draft after leading the Deacs to the regular season ACC title his senior year. His jersey hangs from the rafters of The Joel, somethign that will almost certinaly not happen to Paul's number 3 if he leaves early. (which he has now decided to do). J-Ho also got a degree from one of the preimere universities in the nation, and his name is all over the record book in points, rebounds, assists, even steals and blocks.

Now that Chris has declared (and Eric too), many Wake fans are going to have a bitter taste in their mouths. He played amazingly for the two years that he was here, and helped lift the program back up to national prominence, with our first number 1 ranking ever, but we won zero championships in his time here, and that is how you really measure GREAT players. Thanks for the two years, and good luck in the NBA Chris, we're going to miss you, and I think you are going to miss us even more. But, I can't necessairly blame you, what if you stayed and got hurt... bye bye NBA. Just make sure to be the first ACC player picked.
